South Pacific Oil is one of the largest corporate Organisations in the Solomon Islands. It imports and sells petroleum products including unleaded petrol, automotive diesel, Jet A1 fuels and a large range of automotive, marine and industrial lubricants. It is 100% owned by the people of the Solomon Islands through their contribution to the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund.
We are currently looking for a person who will take up the position of Consumable officer within our Terminal operations department. The job holder will reports directly to the Asset maintenance supervisor and must have an excellent attention to details, with sound know how to collate and produce accurate data.
Principle areas of responsibility
•Compile and maintain accurate recording of all consumable items.
•Check and record all incoming items for storage, and create new stock cards for new items.
•Update records for any items removed from the consumable shed.
•Monthly reconciliation of consumable items and investigate variance of book stock and actuals.
•Support monthly stock take of consumable items.
•Good communication skills and ability to grasp instructions and put them to sound working practice.
•Ability to demonstrate the capacity to work under pressure to ensure that critical timeline requirement are met
•Must be able to work as part of the team in an office and terminal environment.
•Possess a proactive safety behavior to manage on safety and report on unsafe situations and a practices.
•Candidates must possess a minimum education level of Grade 12
•203 year’s work experience as a Consumable Officer or in related field
•Must have some basic computer training in excel, work and outlook
•Have some knowledge on storage and distribution process of SPO or similar organisation.
